Amicus Briefs Ask the Supreme Court To Hear the First Guantanamo Habeas Case Since Boumediene

At Lawfare, Raffaela Wakeman reports that amici filed two briefs yesterday in favor of cert in Latif v. Obama.  One was filed by a group of retired federal judges who also filed briefs in Rasul v. Bush and Boumediene v. Bush.  The Government’s brief in opposition was originally due yesterday, but after a last-minute extension it is now due April 23.
